The thought is probably not original with Shaw, however. hlbadie.. Note the quote is "The LACK of money is the root of all evil". Shaw is making a pun from the original quote that most people know as "Money is the root of all evil" -THV |

In fact "Money is the root of all evil" is itself a misquote. The proper form is "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil" (from the Bible, The First Epistle of Paul the Apostle to Timothy, Chapter 6, Verse 10). |
