hi, I can tell you exactly how to find what it's worth, and probably other information about it too. You will need a digital camera and to take several clear, detailed shots from different angles. If you don't have a digital camera, find a friend, neighbor, or neighbor's son or daughter who does. Then put it up for auction on ebay. You can set a hidden reserve amount below which you are not obligated to go through with the auction. If you state what the reserve is, you might not have anyone bid on it. It's actually worth what anyone will pay for it. Be sure to use words like "antique dump truck body other parts superior box construction restore commercial" in the title and any other words people might use to search for something like this. And be sure to plainly ask in your description of the item for people with any knowledge or information about it to send you an email. Don't put too many pictures in the ebay listing because if it takes someone too long using a dial-up connection to bring up your items' auction page, they will move on and you will loose a potential bidder and a potential source of more information. Do state in your description that you have other pictures you can email them if they request. This will put you intouch with the most people who know anything about this and will give you a true indication of its real value. I hope this helps. Let me know. Steve |

I'd be wary of trying to discover the value of an item by putting it up for auction. For one thing, unless you really intend to sell the item, it's unethical to put it up for auction. In addition, these days online auction prices rarely reflect what something is worth offline, particularly if you are dealing with true collectors of whatever item you're selling. Kriswrite |
