Couple years ago there was a site askme.com that was similar to Google
Answers, but site was free. What happened with this site? If it run
out of business what were the reasons?

Hello.

AskMe Corporation shut down the Askme.com site in November 2002 "in
order to focus on selling software to large enterprise customers."  It
was simply a business decision on the part of the company that ran the
site.

AskMe vice president of marketing said, "It just didn't make business
sense for us to continue having the consumer site."
