An acquaintance suggested that my surgeon "messed him up" but my
general practitioner says he is good. Is there any way to check the
credentials or qualifications of a doctor other then asking friends or
the general practitioner? If not, is there a place on the internet or
elsewhere where information on complains against doctors are
available?

I am glad that you are answering this question since you gave me such
a good answer on a previous question on adhesion.
I am in Maryland and the medical disorder is prostate cancer, whether
to treat with radical prostatectomy, antitestosterone, radiation or
other ways. I am 76 and have a heart condition.
