Hello out there,

I wish to find out how many coal fired power generators are in
operation in China.  Please quote any government sources or links that
can provide more info for research.

According to the official State Power Corporation of China, there are
70 coal-fired power plants in operation. The following table lists
plants by Name, Location (Province, Municipality or Autonomous
Region), Plant capacity (MW), and Fuel type:

"Principal Fossil and Nuclear Power Plants in Operation"

These figures are for plants of 1000 MegaWatts and above, as of
December 31, 2000.

Coal-fired power generation represents slightly over 75% of the total
electrical power produced in China:
