Hello zammy-ga,

Here's a crown cake recipe that specifically mentions spry. It's
about halfway down the page, under the heading "NEW YEAR'S CROWN
CAKE".

I found this recipe by searching on Google for:

"crown cake" spry

You can find others by searching on Google or another search engine
for:

"crown cake" shortening
