Hi agonizingfury,

Do you have the DLLHOST.EXE here?:
C:\Windows\System32\Wins\DLLHOST.EXE

If so, it's a virus.
(C:\Windows\System32\dllhost.exe is ok and not a virus)

Detailed instructions for getting rid of it:

http://www.pchell.com/virus/welchia.shtml

Some messages about it:

Please let us know if that helps.

Thanks,
hummer

Hello agonizingfury,

Thank you, I'm happy to hear that I was able to solve it. As far as
virus scans go, I think it is a good idea to use at least two
different programs on a regular basis. For example, I use the free
version of AVG antivirus for my day-to-day monitoring and every few
months use HouseCall just to double-check. HouseCall is very thorough
and often finds something when other programs haven't.

Again, thank you - here's hoping your friend's computer stays
virus-free.
