Waurika, Perhaps you're referring to the Gibson J-series of guitars? There are a whole slew of them, manufactured from the 1930s through the 1990s. To reiterate Xeniom, more info would be incredibly helpful for further searching! Thanks, Librarygopher |

Would it help if I added a picture of it? I can do that by sending e-mail, if you will give me a place to send it. All the markings that I can find are just the J & J logo on it's front. Where else could I look for markings, like a serial number? The three faces have pearl inlay.....please tell me what to look for for further comments to help. I know nothing about steel guitars. |

There is a company called J&J that made handmade DRUMS (see http://www.chrisbsmusic.com/drumsfaq.html ) I wonder if it could be the same company? |

I don't have the answer, BUT, I think I can direct you to who probably will. Back in 1983 my dad bought my mom one of the very last MSA Universal Steel Guitars from one of the top three steel guitar players in the world Maurice "Reece" Anderson (hence the M and A in MSA). He was and still is considered one of the best players and manufacturers of steel guitars. Although he no longer manufactures them he still has an up-to-date web site I will give below where you can contact him. He includes his address as well as phone number. His knowledge is extensive from the 50'-90's. I've also found three steel guitar chat rooms/forums where you might be able to throw your question. Maurice Anderson's web site: ( http://www.flash.net/~picker1/reece/index.html/ ) Three chat rooms/forums for steel guitar players: ( http://jupiter.beseen.com/chat/rooms/i/1749/ ) ( http://www.bOb.com/forum/ ) This one is via Outlook Express ( alt.guitar.lap-pedal ) Hope this helps! Let me know if you need anything else. I never met Reece personally, but my parents became pretty good friends with him and his wife. It's been nearly 20 years, but if I called he would remember them. |

I'm sorry one of the www.bOb.com/ link didn't work. Try this instead: ( http://www.b0b.com/forum/ ) Hopefully you wont need the forums or chats, Reece should be able to help. |
