I use AOL 7.0 When I changed from Windows ME to XP, I got all these
pop-ups that I heard about. I went to 9.0 optimized and they all
stopped. Using 9.0 for a while I found that it had several little
things I didn't care for so I deleated it and loaded 7.0 back in. I
now have "no" pop-ups at all and I really do not know why.
7.0 is just great now. Any ideas???

You don't need to pay $5 for this answer. Doing the below will get rid
of the annoying popups, without changing your AOL 7.0 Settings.

To stop receiving popups, turn off the Messenger service. To do so,
follow these steps:

Click Start, and then click Control Panel (or point to Settings, and
then click Control Panel).
Double-click Administrative Tools.
Double-click Services.
Double-click Messenger.
In the Startup type list, click Disabled.
Click Stop, and then click OK.
