Please provide me a list of the best doctors in Las Vegas and how to
reach them. The list needs to come from a reputable source such as a
respected magazine or medical website. If you're in doubt if the
source is reputable, please ask me. Please also provide how the list
was determined (survey by peer doctors, etc.)

I'm looking for the best doctors by specialty. Specifically, I need a
cardiology specialty and a general practitioner/internist but the more
specialties, the better since it's always good to have a list of good
doctors!

I'm not looking to get a website that asks me to pay money to get the
recommended list.

I don't have a set number of doctors I'm looking for but if you can
provide a minimum of 3 doctors in each specialty, especially in
cardiology and internist, then I'll be satisfied.

Thank you for your help.

Background: A relative suffered an aorta dissection (what John Ritter
had) recently and I want to make sure she's seeing the best doctors
available in the Las Vegas area. Thanks.

If anyone also has any anecdotal evidence of good doctors in Vegas,
I'd also love to hear what you have to say. Thanks!

The first link discusses survey methodology, the second is the list of
best doctors in Las Vegas as determined by the survey.

I hope you find this article useful.

The Best Medicine

For survey purposes, the physicians were separated into two basic
groups: primary care and specialists. The first (call them "PCs")
consisted of family practitioners, internists and pediatricians. In
nearly all cases, patients are referred to specialists by these PCs.
Then we limited the specialties to 12--those we believed patients were
most often referred to, and whom the patient often has a choice in
selecting.
In the first phase, The Source randomly surveyed our field of
specialists, asking them to name the best primary care physicians in
each of the three categories. The specialists should know: They share
patients with the PCs, have routine contact with them and are familiar
with their skills and patient relationships.
Taking these results, The Source called on our 30 leading PCs (the top
10 in each category) to ascertain their choices as to the Valley's top
specialists. We liked the idea of the best PCs giving us their
opinions. They have the insight--getting feedback from patients,
seeing and hearing about the results of their referrals.
