for is a ?Child Development Site Supervisor Permit?.

?(h) Child care center directors shall have completed one of the
following prior to employment:
(1) High school graduation or GED; completion, with passing grades, of
15 semester or equivalent quarter units as specified in (h)(1)(A) and
(h)(1)(B) below at an accredited or approved college or university;
and at least four years of teaching experience in a licensed child
care center or comparable group child care program.
(A) Three of the 15 units required in (h)(1) above shall be in
administration or staff relations.
(B) Twelve of the 15 units required in (h)(1) above shall include
courses that cover the general areas of child growth and development,
or human growth and development; child, family and community, or child
and family; and program/curriculum.
(2) An associate of arts degree from an accredited or approved college
or university with a major or emphasis in early childhood education or
child development; and at least two years of teaching experience in a
licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.
(A) Three semester or equivalent quarter units shall be in
administration or staff relations.
(3) A bachelor's degree from an accredited or approved college or
university with a major or emphasis in early childhood education or
child development; and at least one year of teaching experience in a
licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.

(4) A Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or a Child Development
Program Director Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher

Authorization
A Child Development Site Supervisor Permit authorizes the holder to
supervise a child care and development program operating at a single
site; provide service in the care, development, and instruction of
children in a child care and development program; and serve as a
coordinator of curriculum and staff development in a child care and
development program.
Requirements for the Child Development Site Supervisor Permit
To qualify for the Child Development Site Supervisor Permit,
applicants must satisfy all of the requirements listed in one of the
following options:
Option 1
a. complete all General Requirements as defined on page 7
b. complete an associate degree or 60 semester units
c. complete six additional semester units of course work in
administration and supervision of child care and development programs.
These units must be comprised of two courses: one introductory course
and one advanced course, or two courses of different topical content.
d. complete an additional two semester units of adult supervision course work
e. complete 350 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a
child care and development program, working at least three hours per
day within the last four years. This experience must include at least
100 days of supervising adults in a child care and development program
and must be verified by submitting an original letter from the
employer on official letterhead.
School-Age Emphasis under this option requires that 12 of the 24
semester units in early childhood education or child development be in
school-age course work.
Option 2
a. complete a baccalaureate degree or higher
b. complete 12 or more semester units of early childhood education or
child development course work
c. complete three semester units of supervised field experience in an
early childhood education setting
School-Age Emphasis under this option requires that six of the 12
semester units in early childhood education or child development be in
school-age course work.
Option 3
a. obtain a valid Administrative Services Credential authorizing
service in California public schools
b. complete 12 or more semester units of early childhood education or
child development course work
c. complete three semester units of supervised field experience in an
early childhood education setting
School-Age Emphasis under this option requires that six of the 12
semester units in early childhood education or child development be in
school-age course work.
Option 4
a. obtain a valid Multiple Subject Teaching Credential or a Single
Subject Teaching Credential in Home Economics
b. complete 12 semester units of early childhood education or child
development course work
c. complete three semester units of supervised field experience in an
early childhood education setting
School-Age Emphasis under this option requires that six of the 12
semester units in early childhood education or child development be in
