On a daily basis, investors call their stock brokers and ask them to
do trades for them (e.g. "buy 1000 shares of IBM"). These trade
requests are registered by the dealers/trader/brokers and driven into
the "market". But every once in a while, there is a mistake in the
entry (10000 shares instead of 1000; a "sell" order instead of "buy",
etc.).
My question is: please provide research or data as to the occurence of
these mistakes in terms of percentage of the transactions (e.g. 0.03%
of trades) or in turnover ($XYZ,000,000 are mistaken).
The answer MUST give me a link to the source of the information (or
where the info can be obtained) which MUST be from research done from
2000 and onwards.
