You are absolutely right.  I've been down that road already.  The
problem with the throttle bodies purchased new is that they sell for
more than $2,000 each and it takes two per vehicle.  MB has a definite
design fault in more than 100,000 cars built since the early 1990's,
and if you don't change the wiring harness (which has the same
defective wiring insulation as the throttle bodies), then you end up
replacing thousands of dollars of computers too.
MB should be sued by the US Government, and I've alrady turned this
problem over to my local Congressman for review.
SSSOoooooooooooooooooo, if anyone has a better solution, I'm still looking.
