Hello there, dixieman,

I found on-line copies of a newspaper that regularly carried
McLemore's weekly column, "The Lighter Side", but I don't see anything
matching the description of the "Soldier Hat" article.

Is there any additional detail you can provide. What was the article
about? Any particular words or phrases that stick in your mind?

And--I have to ask-- are you sure of the title? And sure it was
McLemore who wrote it?

Do you in what newspaper or publication it was published in? If that
is known it may help a researcher. The publication may be able to be
located in a library and a photocopy ultimately made from it, or the
paper may still be in existance any they may be of service.
