I was browsing through the children's section of my public library and came across a folk tale about how turkeys (or chickens?) acquired their pecking behavior. Now I need the story for a Toastmaster speech and I cannot relocate it and it is driving me nuts. I've been all over Google and I can't find anything on this. I can find "how a turkey got its gobble" "how a turkey got its beard" and "how the turkey got its name" but not how it learned to peck. I think this book was about African folk tales but it MAY have been Native American in origin. Please help. |
