Question ID: 272990
I have a safety training CD ROM that uses power point and links to
mpegs files, wav files and used pictures within. Also, there is a
interactive test in visual basic. I want to protect both the files
mpegs and CD ROM as a whole from being copied. What are my best
solutions?

Do you plan on selling or widely distributing the CD ROM?

In otherwords, will you be having a CD Duplication facility make copies for you?

Hi,

This is not a simple task, to protect your MPEG files, they will have
to be packed in some other way, rather than simple files on the drive.
e.g. pack the videos into an executable, presentation or something
similar.

To protect your CD-ROM as a whole from being copied, there are
commercial solutions that exist, these rely on the discs being
pressed, rather than being copied on a CD recorder, which is what I
suppose you use in your home office. They probably are quite expensive
as well. Sorry for not giving you a more optimistic comment.

If you provide a high quality CD-ROM, at a decent price, people won't
copy it as much.

Regards,
endo
