I have found detailed statistics for the years 1996 to 2001. Would
these be sufficient?

There is one thing I am not clear about: What do you mean by "also the
population statistics"? Do you mean the population of the United
States for those years, or some subset of the population?

1996 To 2001 is great, I just need to see the rate of increase... to
do that I need to take in consideration population increase.

Unfortunately, I have completely forgotten where I saw these
statistics. Perhaps I will remember, but in the meantime, perhaps
another Researcher will find the statistics you need. Since I found
them once, I assume that I or someone else will find them again.

<The National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information
publishes a number of documents that include details about the rate of
sex abuse.

The rates of sex abuse for the years 1997 to 2001 can be found in the
document Child maltreatment 2001.

Table 3.5 gives the number of victims and the population.
