What's the name of the British series about a female detective and her
male partner -- not officially a part of the force -- who intuits the
character of suspects and often helps resolve the case through his
puzzle-solving skills? (It's not the Inspector Linley program.) A
recent episode considered a talk-show host who proved to be a serial
killer.

Hello mccook,

By luck -- or perhaps my own puzzle-solving skills? -- I have found
it. The series is Wire in the Blood. As BBC America explains, Dr.
Tony Hill is a clinical psychologist whose "understanding of human
behavior enables him to empathize with both victim and killer - even
to the point of almost sensing the killings themselves." Detective
Inspector Carol Jordan "works on instinct, backed up by a rigorous,
professional search for evidence."

The second episode of Wire in the Blood involved "talk show hosts Jack
and Amanda Vance". Presumably, one of them is the killer.

Searched on Google for:

inspector morse linley "prime suspect"

[This search led me to the following article:

This, in turn, led me to search on Google for:

"hermione norris" "robson green" "wire in the blood"

I wonder if you yourself speak with a British accent. Speedy,
excellent work as usual.
