Hi,

Could you please tell us the operating system you are using?

Is the Windows Explorer icon located on your desktop or in the Start
button programs group?

Thanks for the clarification. However, now you said it's Internet
Explorer. Are you sure it's Internet Explorer and not Windows
Explorer?

Have you tried creating a new shortcut for the icon?

Have you tried creating a new shortcut for the Windows Explorer icon?

Is there an error message when you click on the icon?

Please answer the two questions above so we can have a better idea
regarding your problem. It would be better if you can give any
additional information.

Perhaps, try copying the shortcut from your wife's account onto a
floppy disk or other form of removable media, and copying it back to
your account?

You should be able to create a new, working shortcut to Windows
Explorer by doing the following:

1. From the Start menu, navigate to All Programs, Accessories
2. Find "Windows Explorer" in the list of items in Accessories, place
the mouse over it, and press-and-hold the Right (not the left) button
3. While holding the Right button, drag the mouse to an open spot on
the desktop and release the button
4. Now select "Copy here" from the menu that appears.

You should now have a working shortcut to Windows Explorer.
