I am looking to buy a Patek Philippe Ref 3424 wistwatch in Yellow Gold
or Pink Gold on a strap.This is an assemetric shaped wristwatch
designed for Patek in the 1960's by Gilbert Albert.I subscribe to
Auction catalogs from Sothebys,Christies and Antiquorum so it should
NOT be from any of these 3 auctioneers (for example I know of a White
Gold/Platinum Ref 3424 in the Beyer themed Antiquorum sale of 16th Nov
o3...in this case the metal is wrong/beyond my budget).So I'm looking
a a YG or PG 3424 from a dealer,or private sale,

Keep an eye out with dealers...where do you live?
The Auction prices vary but on the whole have steadily moved
up...doubled in the last 4 years.
If you can get a YG for below $ 28K I think you would have paid a fair price.
Which other Vintage Pateks do you have?

I found the one in Australia--we're supposed to talk today.  The other
guy wanted $80T which is ridiculous.  28T seems low to me--the lowest
I saw was around 35T.  I have an Aquanaut (which I bought from the guy
in Australia) and I also have an early automatic.  I found a 1950's
deployant clasp (Patek) to go with it.  Talk about hard to find items!

when i started looking the price was about $ 15K in 2000 and I thought
that was too much.If you are not in a hurry you will get it for below
$30K.speak to a dealer in Italy called Alessandro...he found mine for
me and a couple of other nice Pateks.

Even at $10K less than the Australian I'm a willing seller!

Just remembered Aaron Faber Gallery in NYC on 5th Av had a RG 3424
spider dial for $ 40k.If they reduce a bit not bad given it is RG?
