Where can I get a copy of the first edition of the J. Crew mail order
catalog?  I believe it was published in 1983 but I may be wrong.
In particular I am looking for the letter that was published in the
catalog from the fictional J. Crew character.
I would prefer to get a hardcopy of it but a digital copy would be fine too.

Have you tried writing to the company? I would think they'd be more
than happy to send you a copy or a photocopy, particularly if it
happens to be for a research project/book/article.
