Hello maxina-ga,

Assuming that a certified copy of a will from 1980 would still be
available from the Essex County courts, it would likely be at the Hall
of Records, Civil Division, Special Civil Part, Surrogate (Probate).
The address and phone number for the Special Civil Part are provided
on these two pages:

"Essex Vicinage"
New Jersey Judiciary
http://www.judiciary.state.nj.us/essex/index.htm

"Superior Court of New Jersey - Essex Vicinage -- Quick Reference --
Key Location Guide"
New Jersey Judiciary
http://www.judiciary.state.nj.us/essex/numbers.htm

If for some reason they are not able to help, you can try the general
court administration phone number, listed on both of those pages, or
perhaps better yet the Customer Service number for the Civil Division:

"Customer Service" [Civil Division, Essex Vicinage]
New Jersey Judiciary
http://www.judiciary.state.nj.us/essex/civil/customers.htm
