I would like to see if there is a way I can track the popularity of certain phrases that people do searches on. For example, I would like to see how many times the phrase "cheap oneway travel" has been searched today/week/month, etc. Does this tool exist? If I cannot obtain these reports for Google, which search engines make this info available? |

Hi there, Google ------ Google Adwords have a number of tools for their customers to help them estimate what their ads will cost. Once an ad is up and running, Adwords reports detail the number of ad impressions and click-through rates for each keyword you have chosen. If your target market covers all countries and languages, then this a way of getting accurate data on the number of Google searches done on a keyphase. The downside is that you must be running an ad targeting that keyphrase. You can become a Google Adwords customer with as little as a $5 activation fee: https://adwords.google.com/ Other Engines ------------- Aside from Google Adwords, there are several other search engines which can give you last month's numbers for any phrase you enter. The purpose is to help customers of their Pay Per Click programs. Overture http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ 7Search http://conversion.7search.com/scripts/advertisertools/keywordsuggestion.aspx eSpotting http://www.espotting.com/popups/keywordgenbox.asp You might also want to try out WordTracker for free. Their data comes from the Metacrawler/Dogpile meta-search engines, so they are untainted by webmasters checking their ranking for keyphrases: http://www.wordtracker.com/trial/index.php3 Best wishes, robertskelton-ga |
