What is the translation of the word, "koverke"? I'm pretty sure it is
Hungarian. Unfortunately I do not have it in context. It is a user
name and I'd like to know what it means.

So it means fat guy, 'eh? That makes sense, because it's on a website
for people who have had or are going to have weight-loss surgery.
Thanks!

Hello jonkun227-ga,

Kövérke is the diminutive expression for kövér which means ?fat,
stout, corpulent.? Hungarian uses the suffix or word ending ?ke (-ka)
to turn any name or noun into little or young. For instance, I have a
nephew named Ferenc. His nickname is Feri and his mom affectionately
calls him Ferike or little Feri.

Kövérke means ?little fat one.? This could be taken as little meaning
young and would likely be an affectionate usage. It could also be
little (as opposed to big) taken humorously or ironically and could be
either affectionate or sarcastic.

I?m a native Hungarian speaker but I?ve also found some links to help
you with further Hungarian expressions.

I didn't expect nearly as detailed or comprehensive answer as I
received. Thanks a lot! This was my first question I've asked and I'll
definitely use this again.
