There are lots of sites talking about how good the Atkins diet is for
you. I'd like a list of 3-5 comprehensive web sites that demonstrate
that the Atkins diet is, in fact, unhealthy and dangerous. (By
comprehensive, I mean more than a couple of web pages.)

Hi Jhabley!

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine has set up a very
comprehensive website warning people about the dangers of the Atkins

You should know that a recent study by the Harvard Medical School
demonstrated that low-carbohydrate diets like Atkins are very
effective and, when the patient is managed by a physician (mostly
lipid studies and kidney function tests) are quite safe. They also
showed that not every calorie taken in is the same and that low-carb
dieters can, on an annual basis absorb about 27,000 more calories than
traditional dieters, WITHOUT weight gain. In fact the weight lost on
Atkins-type diets improves health more than the added fats and high
protein detract from it. Be aware that medical doctors have been
taught for decades of the dangers of high fat diets, even as America
has been getting more obese on so-called "healthy" diets. Traditional
wisdom is often proved wrong over time (the flat earth, Newtonian
physics, etc.) Look at all sides of the issue before you commit.
