Records of the dedication to Marquess of Rambures, Louis-Antoine de la Roche by King Louis of France. In about 1756-1770. A plaque was given to the Marquess of Rambures. It had a golf scene etched by J. Aliamet. The etching was a reverse dipiction of Adriaen van de Velde's, A Frost Scene: 1668. Where could I find the written records of this dedication? |

Hello yffad I looked in some online French archives and library catalogues without finding any clues: National Archives http://www.archivesnationales.culture.gouv.fr/chan/ National Library of France http://www.bnf.fr/ Have you tried contacting the Chateau de Rambures, to ask if they know of any documents/archives where you might find out more? http://www.chateaufort-rambures.com/infogen.htm Some information in English on the castle, the Rambures and the Roche-Fontenille family. http://www.somme-tourisme.com/uk/decouvrir/avisiter/chateaux/chateau_rambures.asp Good luck - Leli |
