SM302" marketed in Germany in the late 1970s? Has the same camera been
marketed under a different brand name?

Hello muthu7,
I have been researching your question for a while now and can find
no evidence that this model was indeed manufactured in Japan. Every
reference I found indicates it has been manufactured in Russia or
Germany. I have several sites with some information relating to other
names under which it was manufactured. Can you let me know what leads
you to believe that this camera was made in Japan? Do you have any
other information that may help us?
   Thank you, crabcakes-ga

Muthu -

Revueflex was an East German camera, made in the USSR, not in Japan.

Revueflex (Revue) is a brand of the German company Foto Quelle.

I found some evidence that Chinon have manufactured cameras for Revue
(Foto Quelle) with the brand Revueflex.
For example
Chinon CE-4 = Revueflex AC-2
RevueFlex 5005 = Chinon CE II
etc.

See the following post:
"WTB/(trade): Chinon/REvueflex 35mm screwmount body"
"Brands are Chinon or Revue (same camera)
These are small, mostly plastic, screw mount SLRs made around 1980. They
have three LED type lights IN THE EYEPIECE, not the viewfinder. Lens not
important.
State condition, price, and if you need any other items.

See also the following page:
"Chinon Screw-Mount Cameras", you can read the folowing:
"Chinon CS-4, 1980-??
As Chinon CM-3 but more compact and light body; Flash synch at 1/60.
Viewfinder image 92%
From Franck Maubuisson :
I have a Revueflex AC1 which was the Chinon CE as distributed in
Europe by Foto Quelle. I was presented with it in...'81 I believe (+
or - 1 year)..."
http://anusf.anu.edu.au/~aab900/photography/cameras/chinon.htm

All of this lead us to the assumption that the Revueflex SM 302 was
manufactured by Chinon. Unfortunatly, I did not find a Chinon
equivalent for this camera.

Please let me know if you accept this as an answer, in the affirmative
I will post this in the answer box so I will claim the prize.

Regards.
