In the sport of rodeo, belt buckles are given as awards as opposed to
trophies or ribbons.  Each event typically gives a buckle to the
winner, however, the world champions get a special buckle:  one made
of gold.  One of the most coveted prizes in professional rodeo, you
can see a picture of one at

I would guess this is referring to a belt buckle, which is awarded for
rodeo.  If this is what you are looking for, let me know and I will
