My family was cheated by a big corporation and there is little
prospect of an apology, let alone any refund. What can we do to achieve
closure if it is not likely that they will perceive an unhappy
customer as a liability and try to meet us half-way? Ask, and I will
name the Corp.

You might want to post a complaint here:

Good luck! Although you may not receive an apology or a refund,
publishing a complaint on the Internet may give the satisfaction of
knowing that at least you've done something.

and maybe tell 10 of your friends.. and ask them to spread the word..
atleast you have the satisfaction of knowing that the company could
not get sales from your friends..

The best way to achieve closure is to look around at your family, your
friends, your health, and your life -- all the things you cherish --
and realize that, in the big scheme of things, dollars lost to a
faceless corporation are meaningless.

Remember, as long as you are still reacting, the corporation still has
power over you. Walk away and you're free.

Closure comes from letting go. Not from getting even.
