Hi leslie56,
You only asked for ONE famous Navajo, but I could not stop at one. I
have listed several. Since moving to an area where I have been
fortunate enough to actually meet and know several Dine? or Dineh (
Dine? is what these Native Americans prefer to be called) I am
pleased to be able to present you with this answer!
My own experience is that Dine? (Navajo) people are low-profile,
modest people, preferring not to ?toot their own horn? or to be in the
limelight.
As far as ?Famous?, the Navajo Code Talkers are probably the group
with the most publicity, portrayed in the 2001 movie ?The Wind
Talkers?. Here is a lost of Congressional Gold Medal recipients:

troops and neighboring Indian tribes, though the Mexicans were his
primary enemy due to their continual slave raids.?
