Assume we have the following data set:

yr 1999        yr 2000       yr 2001      yr 2002
--------------------------------------------------
900              1100         1300          900
950              1150         1350          850
1000             1200         1400          970
1050             1250         1450          1100

a)what do you know will be the seasonal indices for each quarter?  How
do you know this?

b)assume that the centralized moving average for quarter 3 of 1999 is 1,000.
what must the centralized moving average be for quarter 4?

Hi k9queen!
I think there's a typo in the 4th column of your table (the one for
year 2002). Is it possible that the values for this column are the
following?

1500
1550
1600
1650

No, the numbers are correct.
(I can see where you where going with that thought though!) But go
ahead and use those numbers, I will post a clarification when I submit
it!
