Hi Sabari,

Would you be satisfied with an explanation of why this combination
doesn't work? I could provide this for you...but as far as I know
there is no solution.

Let me know,

Hi, Sabari!

I looked at this briefly when you first posted it, but other
researchers were still working on it at that time. I spent many years
in retail electronics, and this was a constant complaint! I can
explain to you why your remote/TV are doing what they are doing, but
that puts you no further ahead. The short version is that universals,
while they control the basic functions (channel change/volume/on-off)
well, may not address a given set's advanced functions.

I did come across one U.K. company selling replacement "universal"
remotes specifically for ITT Nokia TV's. If either of these things is
of interest to you, post a reply here and I'll answer your question.
In any case, it will not be quite what you've asked for.

If you are "somewhat" interested in this information, but not "$10
interested," you may wish to cancel the question in this form and
re-post it at a lower price point.

i don't think teher si any solution because the model of ur tv might
be too old for universal standards from what i understand, if not
maybe there is something wrong then.
but this might be helpful:

My remote control does not work my television.
Check to see that the television is still plugged in at the outlet.
If you have a television with a universal remote, be sure to select
the TV mode on the remote.
If the remote still does not work reset the remote by removing the
batteries. Then press the power button down for 30 seconds. Replace
the batteries and press TV and then power to turn on the television.
If the problem still exists, check and change the batteries if needed.
With a universal remote if you have reset or changed the batteries you
will need to reprogram the remote for the other units.

Subject: Universal Remotes - the Limitations

Unless:

- the particular universal remote control is particularly advanced
- you still have the "old" remote which the universal can "learn" from

Then you will only ever be able to use the universal remote for basic
functionality e.g. change channels, volume, numbers, etc.

This is a limitation of "most" universal remotes. Sorry.
