Hello headsetdotcom,
Here are my impressions:
- The site looks very professional. Personally, I would always be
suspicious of buying from a site that does not look like someone took
some time to design it properly -- your site definitely avoids that
problem.
- The first things that strike me are the image of the headset and
other device in the center of the screen, and the "Instant Live Help"
box at the left. The "Instant Live Help" is a nice touch.
- It's apparent from the home page that there are several ways to find
information on your site -- by clicking on the categories at the top;
by searching in the Search box; by clicking on a phone sytem; etc. I
like it when a site gives me a choice in how to obtain information.
- I clicked well over a hundred links and menu options on the site;
none were broken.
- Everything on the site seemed appropriate to the topic of selling
headsets. It clearly says "Other Products" before the links to sites
on headphones and conference phones.
- On two occasions, the bullet images (
http://www.headsets.com/img/hds2/index/bullet.gif ) did not always
load the first time I visited a page with those images. This problem
occurred early on in my browsing, and did not repeat later on.
- The following page says "no content" at the top left:
http://www.headsets.com/headsets/computer/computer_gallery.html?style=9&app=9&price=0&manufacturer=6&connector=12&component=0&prod_division=1&sort_1=manufacturer_rank,asc&max=200&
Some other pages available from the menus on that page say the same
thing. It would probably be better on such pages to have a standard
message stating something like: "No items are currently available for
this category. Please select another category."
- Sometimes the menus responded slowly when I clicked on the arrow;
and sometimes the borders for the menus were missing. My guess is
that this had to do with my computer running low on memory, rather
than something wrong with the site. Still, perhaps there is a way to
improve the menus so that even slower computers can handle them well.
- The pages loaded reasonably quickly, though I should note that I
have broadband, which might help in that respect.
- You probably know this already, but you will need to add links for
"Are you a... Dispatcher / Executive / Home User / Receptionist".
Now to your specific questions:
1. From the home page, I would click on "Wireless Headsets" under
"Are You Looking For ...". On the resulting page, I would choose the
category ("Complete Systems", "Cellular Phone Headsets", or "Headsets
for Cordless Phones") that I was most interested in. (I could also
find this information by using "Wireless Headsets for Telephones" at
the top of the home page.)
2. I think I would have some difficulty finding the headset I want,
if I did not know what the Nokia 8000 is. But since I know that it is
a cellular phone, I can click on "Cellular Headsets" and then "Nokia",
or alternatively click on "Headsets for Cell Phones" > "Cellular
Headsets for Nokia Phones", in order to find the proper headset.
Three of the five headsets on the resulting page appear to be suitable
for the Nokia 8000.
3. According to the site's "Phone System Recommendations" for AT&T,
any H-Series Headset will work as a corded headset, in conjunction
with a Plantronics M12 Vista Amplifier. The prices for the H-series
headsets run from $44.95 to $129.95; the amplifier is $99.95. As for
the wireless headset, the recommendations point to the Plantronics
Avaya LKA10, which is $349.95.
4. I would go to "Buyer's Guide" > "Glossary". On the resulting
page, I would scroll down to "Biaural and Binaural".
5. From the home page, I would click on "Free 3 Day Shipping" and
"Free Return Shipping" under "Hassle-Free Shopping", or on the
graphics containing those words at the bottom of the page. For
returns, I could also click on "Returns" under "Customer Service".
I hope that this feedback is helpful.
