Question ID: 275712
Xerox, Cannon, Lanier, HP Printers, are some of the
Document-Technology vendors. I wish to hire a sales person who
has worked for these (or such firms in this market) - How can I find
one? Where can I post my job-request?

Alternatively,

What are the some of well-known and rarely-known JOB websites OFTEN
visited by sales people working in the document-technology firms?

Sites like Monster, HotJobs etc are known, but I am not sure if the
sales-people working in the document-technology industry usually visit them.

Can you please help me with any information and insights on where/how
I can find a sales-person who has worked for any other document-technology firm?

If any recruiters specialize in this area, then please do provide information on it.

Hello Ravada,
Have you tried posting the job already on any site? If so, what sites
have already tried? I ask so a researcher can avoid unnecessarily
repeated results.

Hi!

I have a different solution for your question. Why don't you try
posting to trade magazines relating to the document technology
industry. Readers of trade magazines are usually professionals of the
particular industry so if you want to attract these kinds of people
then such publications will be good for you.

I can find you the possible trade magazines you can use. Will a list
of such trade magazines be ok as an answer?

Thanks.

Hello ravada-ga,

I can understand that you would feel frustrated about advertising your
position on one of the major job boards since your posting would be
lost in a sea of opportunities of every kind. Your goal is to find
sites where candidates in your ?document technology? or ?sales?
specialties are likely to gather. The more specialized the recruiting
source, the greater the likelihood of finding the right candidate. The
best solution would be to find recruiters or job boards who can help
you find a sales professional experienced in the document technology
industry.

I?ve found a variety of resources to help you make your job easier.
I?ve located some technology industry resources that should be your
first stop. Next, I suggest using the sales recruiting specialists
I?ve found. Finally, use the additional resources I?ve listed to dig
deeper, if necessary.

I hope that you will find this information helpful. Please don?t
hesitate to ask for clarification if any of this is confusing.

Best wishes for finding an excellent sales professional for your organization.

Thanks for the answer but we are looking for more specific job boards
similar to monster, hotjobs but targetted specifically to Sales people
in Document Management since most of the ones mentioned are known.

thanks

Clarification of Answer by czh-ga on 18 Nov 2003 13:51 PST
Hello ravada-ga,

In your original question you asked for help on where to post your
sales jobs for people in the document technology industry. In my
answer I covered both approaches for finding these specialists.

I?ve provided you with job boards that specialize in Sales people.
These sites have specialized areas where you can explain exactly the
type of candidate you need. Conversely, I?ve also provided you sites
that specialize in Documents Management where you can post jobs in any
functional area, including Sales.

Since you?re looking for a niche area, you may find that it will be
worthwhile to work with a recruiter who is familiar with the industry.
I?ve included referrals to such recruiters.

You now ask for job boards similar to Monster or Hotjobs but more
specialized to Document Management or Sales people. This is a
contradiction in terms. Monster and Hotjobs are huge generalized job
boards that offer ALL types of job postings, including Sales OR
Document Management OR Document Management Sales. If this is what
you?re looking for, I?ve included some additional big boards that
emphasize sales positions. I recommend that you go with the more
specialized resources I gave in my original answer for best results.

To help you further, I?m including some job posting sites from
professional associations from the fields of Documents Management /
Records Management / Information Management as well as Sales. You can
post your jobs with them and they will be viewed by specialists in
your area.

Ravada-ga, I believe that using the links I?ve given you will help you
find the sales professional you?re looking for. Best wishes for the
success of your business.
