Are you trying to assign an approximate date to an item? Does the
item only provide the "51 Rathbone Place" address, and no other
address? If so, I can give you the final year in which this company
was only on Rathbone Place; from that date, it was also at Oxford
Street (at a different number than indicated by answerfinder-ga).
Would this information be sufficient for an answer?

I should be more precise: I have the last date that the company was
just at "51/2 Rathbone Place". I have seen an indication of when it
opened a location at 29 Oxford Street in addition to 51/2 Rathbone
Place, as well as an inidcation that it was at one point listed at "52
Rathbone Place and 29 Oxford Street".

My information does not show when this company began to use the "52"
rather than or in addition to the "51" address, but it does show when
the addition of the Oxford Street address occurred.

We have an oil painting, artist unknown, with a backing that bears the imprint

Geo. Rowney & Co.,
Manufacturers
51 Rathbun Place
London 2 K5549

We hope to approximate the date of the painting.

I think you will find the address is 51 Rathbone Place, London, and
they seemed to have been there during the 19th century, but I could
find no detailed information.

"51 rathbone"

"geo rowney"

"g rowney"

They were also at 190 Piccadilly & 64 Oxford St. London W.
