Hi gsautos-ga!
Thanks for your question; upon viewing your template and auctions I
offer the following review.
First off, I found it comforting that you have a fairly high eBay
rating, and you have placed a good variety of vehicles up for auction.
When taken to the link you provided, I felt that it would be more
useful if you could provide more in the "Item Title"..perhaps the year
and some other pertinent information that would allow buyers to
identify if the item matches what they have decided on.
Next, I clicked on a Honda Accord listing. The highlight of technical
specs in the gray box were appreciated, along with the option of
viewing CarFax details. This I find quite innovative and provides me
with a feeling of trustfulness (decreases my weariness of buying a
"lemon"). I noticed this was not available on all your listing and i
think making sure it is there could improve your image as a seller.
The template itself is quite sharp, clean, and attention-grabbing, but
I found the headings of the various sections a bit fuzzy. You may want
sharper text in place of this.
I'll give you some suggestions on each section as well:
OPTIONS:
Nicely listed and easy to identify desired options, but it could be
made better by linking to a picture of that option in your set of
pictures below.
DESCRIPTIONS:
First off this should read "DESCRIPTION". As a potential buyer, I have
a little trouble with the way the description is written. It makes me
feel as though a car salesman is telling me this; no offense, but I
tend to take those types of statements with a pinch of salt. Instead,
I would start with a base description offered by the manufacturer and
make changes where needed to apply to this specific vehicle.
The guarantee does not belong here...either put it with the terms or
in its own section.
IMPERFECTIONS:
In the interest of getting you the best price, you may want to look
for a better word than "imperfections" as a heading. Also avoid saying
"a couple" or "some" when describing these...stay as definitive as
possible.
WARRANTY:
Information here seems a bit cluttered; you may want to lay it out in
point form so that its easier to read. Also, the italics seem off to
me...maybe try some other way of emphasizing those specific parts.
Instead of linking a page to HERE, try linking it to "The eBay
Warranty Policy"..this way the user knows exactly where this link will
take them.
Eliminate the minor issue with spacing between this and the next
section.
ABOUT US:
Try to provide actual contact information such as address, phone
number, fax number, email, etc. along with a brief description about
the company. It could be seen as pressure when you state "You will be
thrilled...". This is not what this section is for and since it is not
a subjective statement I would remove it altogether. Quality not
quantity :)
TERMS:
Well its not poorly presented considering its just a bunch of legalese
:) Try to replace "you" and "we" with "the successful bidder" and
"Gold Star Motors" though. The "BID WITH CONFIDENCE" seems a bit bold
and repetitive considering you are within the eBay environment.
The "why buy a car from..." section is not fitting well into this
section. In fact, since it won't change between your various listings,
you may want to put it after all the pictures so it will stand out.
PICTURES:
Excellent...these really add value to the listing.
PAYMENT:
You may want to fill out these details although I know they fit into
the eBay template. Since bidders are likely to have bought on eBay
before, they may be expecting to find the detailed information in that
position.
That's about it...if you have any problems with the review please post
a clarification. Good luck with your auctions and thanks for using
Google Answers.
Cheers!
