I tried to deactivate my website months ago but see it is still up and
running. This was set up by someone else and I don't know who the
service provider (web-site hosting) is. How do I find this out so I
can contact them to deactivate my website and quit charging me?

Hi,

It is pretty easy to find out who owns the IP address of the server on
which your site is hosted, but this will not necessarily tell you who
hosts the website. The IP address can be leased to a hosting company.

I can point you in the right direction, which might help you, but
without the address of the site itself, I cannot guarantee a solution.

Thanks.
endo

What is the website URL?

If for some reason my request asks for information that you would
prefer not to reveal, perhaps there is some other way that you can
provide information that would enable us to assist you.

Alternatively, we might be able to inform you how you can check
yourself to find out who hosts the website, especially if you would
prefer not to give the website name.

Sorry, I was writing my post while endo-ga was doing the same. In any
event, your reply to endo-ga will basically serve as a reply to my
post as well.
