Can you go to the unfinished web site I designed a few years ago but
never launched, returnforreward.com, and tell me how to market it to
an investor willing to take it the rest of the way for an equity
interest? Art

Hello Art,

Upon visiting this site I notice it has an "under contruction" notice
without any content. This means that either you are interested in
selling the domain name or have not published your site. If you could
please post whatever work you have done, it would help us determine
the marketability for you.

So what type of information would your ideal Answer contain? Contact
information of venture captialists who have invested significantly in
website ventures in the past, perhaps or what?

It's a good idea but I dare say it isn't an original one. In fact
there are a number of places where one can list stolen or missing
items for free or for a nominal fee such as these:

JUST STOLEN
http://www.just-stolen.com/aboutus.html

WORLD'S MOST WANTED ART
http://www.saztv.com/page56.html

THE INTERNET LOST AND FOUND
http://www.lostandfound.com/

As for law enforcement (of which I am a member) we rely almost
exclusively on NCIC for confirmation of stolen property and I'd
venture to say that no agency is likley to peruse an internet web page
for such items as a standing rule and base arrests or seizure on that
information:

National Crime Information Center (NCIC)

I have no desire to invest cash. I am looking for a partner to develop
it the rest of the way for an equity interest. It is not my field of
expertise. I am looking for an expert who likes the idea, believes it
offers a business model that can be profitable, and is willing to take
it the rest of the way for an equity interest. Art

I am familiar with the VC web sites and have done most of the searches
you have done. I still think the idea is unique and the name is good.
What I thought was that among you Google guys would be a person who
knew a specific person that had developed small successful sites
before that you could introduce me to. My question is more "can you
intoduce me to someone". Not being a high-tech guy I kind of assumed
you guys moved in a crowd of people that launched web sites in their
sleep. I am not looking to make a killing. If the site turns a profit
I would use the technique to launch two or three more to minimize the
overhead and maximize the profit, perhaps even buying some small but
profitable sites. Is anybody doing this other than Barry Diller on a
grand scale. Does anybody want to do what the VC's have no interest
in, i.e making $200,000 a year through the efficient operation of 10
small sites with no desire to go public. In other words, enough money
for the average joe but way below what any VC group or angel investor
would want. Art
