< Albert Hencke (1865-1936).
Your painting will be worth what someone is willing to pay for it. A
good indication of its worth is to compare it to prices achieved at
auction. In recent years two works of Albert Hencke?s have appeared in
auctions. The most recent sale of a work by Hencke realised $350.

One of the best guides to art prices is artprice.com. They record
details of prices achieved at auction. A search of their data base
shows that one work has been sold and that they have a biography for
him.

A work by Albert Hencke was sold 27 June 1996.
Title: Leaving the harbor.
Size 43.688 x 39.624.
Medium: Gouache on paper.

One day access to the database costs $15.

More recently, a gouache on paper by Albert Hencke came up for sale in
September 2003. The guide price was $300 - $400 and it sold for $350.

Albert Hencke appears on the index of Mount Shasha artists. According
to this site there is now more interest in early Californian
paintings. http://www.siskiyous.edu/shasta/art/artists.htm

He also appears to have been active as an illustrator. References to
his illustrations appear on these sites.
