shybaby-ga ,

"Abortion is not murder, it's a woman's choice". Agree or disagree

I happen to agree that abortion is a woman's choice, and is not murder
in the conventional, or true sence of the word. If one considers a
human life to start at birth, then it's not murder. If one considers
human life to start at conception, then it may be considered a special
kind of murder, but I would still say it's a woman's choice, since the
quality of her life (and the child's) will be affected by her
decision.

Hi Shybaby, Have you considered what God`s viewpoint is on the
matter.Given that if you believe the Bible is the Word of God, given
to us for guidance, then Psalm 139 gives a very good indication of
God`s specific view on abortion. verse 13; For you yourself produced
my kidneys, You kept me screened off in the belly of my mother. 14; I
shall laud you because in a fear inspiring way I am wonderfully made.
Your works are wonderful, as my soul [ complete person] is very well
aware. My bones were not hidden from you, when I was made in secret
When I was woven in the lowest parts of the earth. 16; Your eyes saw
even the embryo of me, and in your book all its parts were down in
writing. Considering that Psalms were written long before Jesus
Christ, in the days of King David, a lot was known about human
reproductivity. And the Jewish faith of the time deeply respected
motherhood. If everyone these days was doing the "Right" thing , there
would not be the children born of rape or damaged due to chemicals we
use in our modern [ so called] lifestyle.

Of course, no one should be forced to follow other peoples' religious
views. So religion can never be a measure for questions such as
abortion. Rationality must always be the basis for important
decisions, not myth. In fact, abortion is a medical and social issue;
clerics and theologists should not be involved in it in any way. It is
simply irrational to use ancient mythological scriptures for
decisionmaking.

I found this on the Adult Christianity site by searching "abortion is
not a sin". AC appears to be one of those sceptics' sites that points
out all the stuff in the Bible most of us have never heard in church
for one reason or another. http://www.postfun.com/pfp/blasphemy.html
