during the dot com boom, how many internet companies were formed? and
how many failed?  how many new IPO's were issued?  How much money was
invested in these companies?

during the "bust" how many employees were laid off?  How many points
did the dow jones fall (or what was the high and low, for boom and
bust respectively)?

Basically, you have about six different questions here.  This creates
a dilemma for a researcher who finds solid information on some but not
all of your questions.

You might be more likely to receive answers if you were to cancel this
question and repost it as several separate questions.  That way, a
researcher who finds the answer to one of your questions could answer
that question but still leave the remaining questions open for other
researchers.
