There once (circa 2000) was a site on Movie/Video Reviews called
"Parental Discretion". It consisted of very serious reviews focused on
family values. The Editor was "Ann Roberts". After a few years of
being online, the site was moved and I have failed to locate it (it
does not seem to have been indexed by Google, yet).
The following quote from one of the pages on the site might help locate it:
"Parental Discretion provides movie reviews targeted toward parents
who want to take a proactive role in their children's exposure to
cultural influences. Our goal is to provide parents and children with
information about a movie's content as objectively as possible, so
that families may make informed viewing decisions based on their own
values and standards of entertainment. Each Parental Discretion review
includes a summary of the film's potentially objectionable elements,
as well as viewing recommendations for different age groups (up to 6,
7-11, 12-14, 15-17, and adult). Suggested discussion topics are
included at the end of every review to encourage parent/child
interaction."
"Parental Discretion publishes a tri-weekly newsletter containing
reviews of current theatrical movie releases. In addition, editor Ann
Roberts' movie reviews appear regularly in dozens of regional
parenting publications throughout the United States."
I want as an answer:
- the (new) URL of the site where Ann Roberts' movie/video reviews are posted; and
- how to subscribe to the aforementioned newsletter.
Please, do not simply provide "alternate" movie/video review sites
(such as dove.org -- I know about that one and others), which do not
have the same (family) focus with discussion topics and objective
recommendations for different age groups. |
