numbers are large relative to the numbers during the dot com boom so i
have something to compare with. perhaps the average # of IPO's during
the early 90's or something like that. thanks.

Hi again bboymsjee-ga!

I found these figures for 1990s IPOs and they have slightly diferent
numbers from the ones I cited before.

1990 - 104 IPOs
1991 - 273
1992 - 385
1993 - 483
1994 - 387
1995 - 432
1996 - 621
1997 - 432
1998 - 267
1999 - 457
2000 - 346
2001 - 76
2002 - 69

Based on these figures, the average number of IPOs from 1990 to 1996 was 383 IPos.

"Some Factoids About the 2002 IPO Market" (page 4)

The latest numbers I cited could be more accurate since it has also
been mentioned in the next article.

"In the year 1999, there were 457 IPOs, most of which were internet
and technology related. Of those 457 IPOs, 117 doubled in price on the
first day of trading. In 2001 the number of IPOs dwindled to 76, and
none of them doubled on the first day of trading."

I hope that these additional information enhances my original answer.

Thanks!
