Question ID: 27747
Who is the chick from the SciFi channel's "SCInema feature" or the
"SCInema event" commercials? And where can I download that commercial
from?

P.S. In the commercial the chick is pulling on this force feed back
type of device with both hands...I can't really explain it...I guess
you'll have to watch the scifi channel for a little bit or
something...I appreciate all the help I can get.

Tough one!

Although I was unable to turn up what you wanted, I'm trusting that
one of my colleagues will be able to answer your question. If worst
comes to worst, you may try contacting one of the Sci-fi channel's
advertising offices at:

http://www.cabletvadbureau.com/02Profiles/ScifiProf.htm

If you are unable to obtain the information in any other way, and
REALLY want to know, "Source Maythenyi" is a fee-based service
claiming an extensive database of cast and crew for US-made TV
commercials. They offer a 30-day subscription for $299.95. If you
are in the industry, and want year-round access to their database, the
annual subscription runs $2999.

Although I can't answer your main question, I've been able to find
some extensive details about the Sci Fi Channel's Scinema commercials.

SCI FI Scinema
Director: Jeremy Hollister
Designer: Victor Newman
Producer: Peter Metsopoulos
Production House: Manhattan Transfer

Here is a slightly blurred, but visible, image of actress
http://www.riotingmanhattan.com/riot_site/rec_scinema_f3.html

You can download the QuickTime version of the commercial from here
http://www.riotingmanhattan.com/riot_site/rec_scinema_mov.html
The download is approx. 3.09MB

The force feedback device you're refering to can be found here
http://www.riotingmanhattan.com/riot_site/rec_scinema_f6.html

Jeremy Hollister, the director has a webpage about Sci-Fi's Scinema
http://www.jeremyhollister.com/scinema.htm

I've found that this page contains the richest information about the
commercial (but you will have to register with the DesignInMotion
website to view the information)
http://www.designinmotion.com/article/mainv/0,7220,26044,00.html

Hope that helps,

Always thought she looked like Ione Skye. Will be curious to know who it really is.

I think I have found the actress who did this promo but it's a visual
guess (I am a designer so I can match up visual information pretty
well.) as there is no information available that's free that connects
actors/actresses to channel promos. The only reason why I won't commit
to an answer is that the girl's hair is blond in the piece and Lara
Flynn Boyle's hair is jet black. Other than that, they definitely seem
to match. http://www.actressarchives.com/lara/ will show pictures that
indicate that, if nothing else, it looks pretty good. If this looks
light to you, I would like to submit this as the anwser. Lots of work
but it's a great question.
