Hi yakker, Just thought I'd add this to justaskscott's fine answer. If you have something to trade, here is another option: Dig It (long version) VBR 131: "Again folks, I'd really rather make trades then sell--let me know even if you have non-Beatles/non-bootleg music CDs to trade." Email: tigsnort@yahoo.com http://www.snortworld.com/beatles/raremp3s.html Two more links of interest: "Hail, Hail Rock n' Roll" CD Boot 17. Dig It (Long Version) http://www.moonglampers.net/setlists/beatlesletitbe.html eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2575193420&category=1573 Get Back To Abbey Road: 1969-1970: 13) Dig It! Apple Studios / Jan. 1969 8:26 "A long version (#2) of "Dig It!" which was edited for the "Let It Be" album. Listen closely for Heather Eastman's contributions in the song." http://home.quicknet.nl/mw/prive/boslibos/40.htm hummer |

I know you're not interested in recording information, but this may be of interest in terms of whether you can find a 20-min version. The late (and sorely-missed) Ian MacDonald is usually a model of trustworthiness when it comes to Beatles information (especially as he draws on the exhaustive research of Mark Lewisohn). In his book Revolution In The Head (London: Fourth Estate, 1994), he refers to a twelve-minute ad-lib. It's from this that the short released version is taken. It's possible that the Beatles recorded it another time, and that it went on for longer (even 20mins) then, but given relations between the musicians at the time and the daftness of the song, it seems unlikely. In summary, then: you might be looking for a 20-min take in vain. You might have to settle for 12! |
