My website: www.lavashark.com As you can see we do web design. If you look at www.lavashark.com/affiliate you will see that we give a 20% commission to anyone that brings in a sale. There are plenty of free systems out there that will do what we need it to. We need to find a system that will give the affiliate a link that they can either give out or place on there websites. If a sale comes in we can check to see if it originated from a link. If it did we would be able to give the affiliate a 20% cut. Please ask any questions you may have before you answer. Sincerely, Will Stein Mansei! Design www.lavashark.com |

The system would have to assign a unique refferal code to every affiliate and include it in the url that you give out. When some one clicked on the affiliates url, taking them to your site, your web server would need to be able to recognize that code, and translate it into a cookie, and store it on the customer's computer, or encode it into every single link on your website, so at no time could the affiliate's refferal could be forgotten. Then when it came time for the customer to sign up, you would have the affiliate's code submitted along with the other sign-up info. You would need some sort of database on the back end to keep track of all this. This freeware script provides a good framework in PHP/MySQL: http://www.webradev.com/postaffiliate/index.php. I would just borrow parts from that script rather than try to customize it completely. |
