I project manage the Internet Solution of a large enterprise in India.
Quite recently, I came to know that the Web Server can have a hardware
box sit before it which will do the Compression of content, SSL
Acceleration , and a lot of other things that will generally free a
lot of resources from the web server thereby, improving web server
(and overall site) performance. Are there similar solutions which can
be used in front of the application server and database layers to
enhance performance? How easy are they to implement? In what way do
they enhance performance?
My application server is Broadvision and my database is ORACLE 8i. I
would particularly be interested in those providers who have resellers
in India.
This is my first posting, so probably I am a bit cautious in
my price. Needless to say, if I find the answer excellent, (by this, I
mean if you help me arrive at a shortlist of 2 or 3 good vendors for
the products I am talking about) there will be a goodish tip!
