Dear Spinal Wiz,
I have two propositions.
The first follows your own idea, of having "pinkish" colours. I
suggest lilac (if you use HTML for colours, it's #8000ff, #CC99FF,
#CC99FF). It is much more subtle than this rather brutal pink. The
letters themselves could be written in deep purple or - other way
round - in silver.
See several good combinations of lilac-blue:

- Wild Horse Jewellery
This is a good combination both from aesthetic point of view, and
because of its similarity to nature (think of a lilac flower and blue
skies).
A second suggestion would be to leave pinks aside, and choose
something suitable for gardening (as I understand that this is the
topic): green. Here you have much more flexibility, to choose several
shades of green.
Suggestions:
- Deep Green, "smoked" "bottle green", as in Celtia Gowns

HTML: #336633 or #006633)
- Lighter Green (example from nature: Lavenham Horse Rags
<http://www.lavenhamhorserugs.com/gifs/cosybig.jpg>). #00FF33 or
#00CC33
- Font: very light green.
Deep Green is complimentary with Bourdeaux (see another Celtia Gowns
design: <http://members.aol.com/mgristwood/ivorydkltgrnpurple.jpg>),
and would also fit lilac fonts. Bordeaux/purple + Deep-Green are also
a very festive combination (think Christmas).
