In the US? Are you interested in a particular part of the country?

most intrested in illinois; however, will look at other areas. Really
would like to know how to locate these for future searching. I'am not
intrested in functioning quarries that are still being mined. Looking
for flooded spring fed quarries for recreational use. thank you,
dive-ga

Hi dive-ga,

I guess from your name, and from my reading, that you want a quarry
for SCUBA-diving in... sounds like fun! Many of the online
real-estate sites have a search function, but the usefulness of the
searches is pretty variable.

At www.thequator.com, the search function is limited to the name of
the property, so only properties called "X Quarry" will be listed,
which seems pretty ineffectual. I did get a listing for the property
I posted already as a comment, at
http://www.theequator.com/lf/asp/full.asp?id=46353

I found another property with a quarry at the unitedcountry.com
website, linked here:

158 ACRE RANCH W/WATER FILLED ROCK QUARRY ARIZONA
http://www.unitedcountry.com/ucforms/uconline/uconline/searchv2/Search_View_Selected_Property.asp?Action=Edit&Item=363055&Page=1&Office='03034'

(note, if this page doesn't work, I used the "nationwide search" with
Quarry in the special feature box.)

This is a great website, and the special feature search seems to be
very useful for you needs. Although I did get some listings for
"quarry tiled floors!"

Another possible property (in Wisconsin) is at:

Quarry for sale

There is an interesting article online about the development of Dutch
Springs quarry as a diving site at:

Diver's Delight at Dutch Springs

Apart from these websites, I think your best bet is to approach
realtors in your area; they are usually part of a larger network, and
can help you find suitable properties.

Hope this has been of some use to you, good luck with the search!
