Me and my wife have been looking for a chandelier for our dining room
for quite some time now (we are both very picky). We finally found one
we love at horchow.,com, but unfortunately it is very small and there
are no other sizes available at horchow.
We know though that if we could find the name of the original vendor
or manufacturer we just might be able to find a larger size of this
chandelier or a very similar one just right for us. We've tried
speaking to several horchow representatives but we always get the same
answer saying they are not allowed to give us that information. We've
even thought of ordering one to see if we get any clues from the box
or labels around it, but the shipping costs of receiving it and
sending it back would be considerable.
The link to the chandelier itself is:
http://www.horchow.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=cprod2552273&parentId=cat000099&masterId=cat000097&grandMasterId=cat000090&cmCat=decorative4&index=10&showCrumb=
I will gladly pay $10 for the name of the original vendor/manufacturer
of this chandelier.
Please let me know if you need further clarification on this question |

Hi jf-ga,
I have uploaded a picture of a chandelier for you to take a look at here:
http://68.15.21.151/uploads/researchers/A46_387_8+4+5.jpg
It is 50 inches high by 30 inches wide, and has 17 lights on three
tiers. It is genuine Murano glass, and sells for $549.
Here is the description:
?THIS MAGNIFICENT CHANDELIER IS ALL 100% HAND-BLOWN MURANO VENETIAN
CRYSTAL. A flourishing crystal industry did not develop in Europe
until the end of the 13th century when Venice became a major
crystalmaking center. The Venetians may have acquired their
crystalmaking techniques through their contacts with the Near East
during the Crusades. The Venetians provided the link between the
ancient and modern crystalmaking arts, combining the best of both
worlds. They developed the highest quality and most beautiful crystal
works of art in the world. Venetian crystal is noted for its
brilliance and for its light, imaginative form. The tradition of this
noble art, handed down from father to son for centuries, is revived in
the hands of the crystalmaster with grace and musicality, privileging
the quality of each product over the quantity. The creativity and
elegance that each Venetian piece possesses makes each piece a work of
art. ?
The same chandelier comes in an all-clear crystal version for $497.
The clear version also comes in a 30? x 28? size with 12 lights on two
tiers for $297.
This company carries about 50 genuine Murano glass chandeliers, many
of them larger than the Horchow model. Their prices are most
reasonable. I have ordered from this company before, and have been
pleased with their products, prices and service.
Please let me know if this chandelier will meet your needs.
Regards,
Beth

Beth, thank you for your response. Nonetheless, I am searching for the
name of the company that produced that particular horchow chandelier.
I have found on the web many companies that produce venetian
chandeliers but as I mentioned before we are very picky and we've only
liked this model. Among other characteristics that we love, its garnet
color is perfect and we like the fact that the "arms" are made from
wrought iron covered in small beads of cystal. Please though do not
send names of other companies that produce similar wrought iron
chandeliers or chandeliers with garnet beads - I want the name of the
company that produced this one.
Thank you.
P.S. - I am rasing the price of the answer from $10 to $20.

All indications seem to be that the chandelier comes from Bucintoro
Glass in Venice:

You can find their home page here:

Omnivorous,
What makes you think it comes from Bucintoro Glass in Venice? I
visited their website and I could not find the chandelier in question
or any model similar to it. Please clarify your source for such a
claim.
Thanks.

I think that an important clue given by Horchow at their website is
that the chandelier is "usa made" of italian materials. I think the
vendor or manufacturer we are looking for is here in the US.

I can't be certain but designs were similar and they too use Murano
glass. I'd put out a query to them via their web address and see if
they can provide any clues (and may even be able to do a similar
design). As suppliers in the market daily, they'll know many things
that aren't available on the Internet.
Good luck with it!

Omnivorous,
I doubt it since my chandelier is made from wrought iron which none of
there designs is. Nonetheless, i've sent them a picture of my
chandelier and a brief explanation. As i've said before, there are
many many venetian chandelier makers on the web which make similar
chandeliers. I am looking for the specific company which made this
one.
Thank You.
